There is no shortage of things to do in Lenexa, from annual festivals to everyday activities.
Often referred to as the “City of Festivals”, Lenexa hosts many special events each year, providing family-focused activities and entertainment for residents and visitors to their community. Keeping to the flavor of Kansas City, Lenexa sponsors their annual Lenexa Chili Challenge in October. For the live music lovers, Lenexa hosts their annual Lenexa Outdoors Concert Series and invites everyone to bring their favorite lawn chairs or blankets and a picnic dinner and enjoy a variety of live music in a lovely outdoor setting at the Lions Memorial Shelter.
Additional Lenexa events include a Tails on the Trails Pet Festival, the Lenexa Art Fair, a Tiny Tot Triathlon, the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle, and the community-focused Spinach Festival.  For those who enjoy visual arts, theater, or cinema, a trio of new events hosted by the Lenexa Arts Council offers fresh new ways to explore the arts in Lenexa. The Lenexa Community Days Parade is beloved by locals and a great way to come together as a town!
Black Hoof Park is a 231-acre park featuring 35-acre, deep-water Lake Lenexa. The park offers a unique dam and spillway, several miles of trails through open grass and wooded areas, and fun natural play areas for children. You’ll be able to experience beautiful nature and observe a wide variety of wildlife. And finally, Thompson Barn is a local event space that has held live music events, community gatherings, and other small parties.
